July 21, 1997 FIRB RESOLUTION NO. 016-97 SUBJECT : Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (1) BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to approve the application of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office for reconsideration of FIRB Resolution No. 35-96 (denying the application for tax subsidy of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office in the amount of P94,249,398.00 only, representing the taxes and duties due on its importation of additional 500 units of KIA BESTA ambulances) but only in the amount of P85,578,453.38 representing the taxes and duties on 454 units of KIA BESTA ambulances already disposed of in favor of local government units and government hospitals/health offices/health centers. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to approve the application of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office for tax subsidy in the amount of P152,024,517.00 only representing the taxes and duties due on its importation of additional 1000 units of KIA BESTA ambulances for the year 1997, but only in the amount of P34,509,565.35 representing the taxes and duties on 227 units of KIA BESTA ambulances already disposed of in favor of local government units and government hospitals/health offices/health centers.
