September 14, 1999 FIRB RESOLUTION NO. 001-99 SUBJECT : Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissary and Exchange Service (1) WHEREAS, the government has initiated a number of fiscal economy measures, one of which is the suspension of tax subsidy provisions; WHEREAS, in recognition of the need to support certain operations of the government, tax subsidy provisions were revived under Section 13 of Republic Act No. 8745 otherwise known as the 1999 General Appropriations Act (GAA) but on a very limited scope; WHEREAS, the Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissary and Exchange Service (AFPCES) is not among those identified under said Section 13 and that its inclusion therein would require an amendment of the 1999 GAA which is not possible at this juncture; HCTEDa NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to deny the request of the AFPCES to avail of the tax subsidy provision of the 1999 GAA.
