December 28, 2004 EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 393 ABOLISHING THE ANTI-SMUGGLING INTELLIGENCE AND INVESTIGATION CENTER WHEREAS, the Anti-Smuggling Intelligence and Investigation Center was created pursuant to Executive Order No. 155 dated December 11, 2002, to investigate and interdict smuggling and other acts contrary to the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines committed on a large scale or by criminal syndicates; HTDAac WHEREAS, it is this Administration's policy to streamline the government bureaucracy in order to promote economy and efficiency in the government to enable it to pursue programs related to the national goal of accelerated socio-economic development; and WHEREAS, Section 31, Chapter 10, Title III, Book III of the Administrative Code of 1987 grants the President continuing authority to reorganize the administrative structure of the Office of the President; NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order: SECTION 1. Abolition . The Anti-Smuggling Intelligence and Investigation Center created under Executive Order No. 155, series of 2002, is hereby abolished. Its personnel are hereby returned to their mother units, and its assets are hereby transferred to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission. SECTION 2. Repealing Clause . All executive issuances, orders, rules and regulations or parts thereof inconsistent with the provisions of this Executive Order are hereby repealed or modified accordingly. SECTION 3. Effectivity . This Executive Order shall take effect immediately. EDIHSC DONE in the City of Manila, this 28th day of December, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Four.
