September 6, 2016 DOF MEMORANDUM FOR : All Heads of DOF Bureaus and Attached Agencies SUBJECT : 2016 Elderly Filipino Week (EFW) Celebration Theme: "Pagmamahal at Respeto ng Nakababata, Nagpapaligaya sa Nakatatanda" In line with the annual celebration of Elderly Filipino Week every first week of October (Proclamation No. 470 dated September 26, 1994), the Department of Health in collaboration with the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (FSCAP), DOF, DSWD, DILG, Coalition of the Services of the Elderly (COSE), Confederation of Older Persons Association of the Philippines (COPAP) and other partner agencies shall conduct a "WALK FOR LIFE" event on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City. The activity will be the opening salvo for the week-long celebration (October 1-7, 2016). About 8,000 participants will join the parade. Assembly time will be at 5:30 AM and the program proper will start at 7:00 AM. It shall be a grand and festive event signifying the strength, physical endurance and productivity of the senior citizens. In this connection, the Department of Finance, its bureaus and attached agencies, and the GFIs are enjoined to send a contingent to the said occasion. Your full cooperation thereto is requested.
