Implementing Guidelines on Conferment of Honors to DOF Officials of Cabinet Rank

April 21, 2013 DOF DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 020-13 IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES ON CONFERMENT OF HONORS TO DOF OFFICIALS OF CABINET RANK Pursuant to Executive Order No. 236, series of 2003 on "Establishing the Honors Code of the Philippines to Create an Order of Precedence of Honors Conferred and for Other Purposes", the following guidelines on conferment of honors to DOF officials of cabinet rank upon their death are hereby constituted: 1. Incumbent and former Secretaries of Finance shall be accorded appropriate honor and recognition through any or all of the following: 1.1. Sympathy flowers from the Department 1.2. The Philippine Flag in DOF at half-mast as a sign of mourning from announcement of death to interment 1.3. The Philippine Flag draped on the coffin (5 x 10 feet) 1.4. The remain lie in repose in the Department of Finance premises for a certain period 1.5. Appropriate military honors 1.6. Interment in the section at the Libingan ng mga Bayani reserved for Cabinet Secretaries in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines 2. The Department may also recommend to the Committee on Honors the posthumous conferment of appropriate award or decoration on the deceased official. DTaAHS 3. For administrative concerns, the Personnel Services Division, Central Administration Office shall be tasked to coordinate with the Office of the Secretary and other appropriate offices/agencies as well as the immediate family of the deceased. The Central Financial Management Office shall take charge of financial matters to ensure smooth implementation of above guidelines.
