Mandating the Officials of the Department of Finance (DOF), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Bureau of Customs to Observe Legislative Protocol for the Tax Reform Program

January 16, 2017 DOF DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 002-17 SUBJECT : Mandating the Officials of the Department of Finance (DOF), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Bureau of Customs to Observe Legislative Protocol for the Tax Reform Program In the exigency of service, this Department Order is being issued to require officials from the DOF, BIR and BOC to observe the following legislative protocol: 1. With reference to Department Order No. 66-2016, assigned DOF Undersecretaries, Assistant Secretaries and concerned Heads of the attached agencies/bureaus or their duly assigned representatives are required to attend Congressional hearings and meetings related to the Tax Reform proposals, at all times. AaCTcI 2. The following Heads of BIR and BOC offices shall be covered by this Department Order: 2.1. Bureau of Internal Revenue 2.1.1. Office of the Commissioner Statistics Division 2.1.2. Deputy Commissioner for Operations Group 2.1.3. Deputy Commissioner for Information Systems Group 2.1.4. Deputy Commissioner for Legal and Inspection Group 2.1.5. Deputy Commissioner for Resource Management Group 2.2. Bureau of Customs 2.2.1. Office of the Commissioner 2.2.2. Deputy Commissioner for Revenue Collection Monitoring Group Statistics 2.2.3. Deputy Commissioner for Management Information System & Technology Group 3. The position and comments of the Department and the attached agencies should be discussed and cleared with the Secretary prior to attendance in Congressional hearings and meetings. 4. Concerned officials must submit a report to the Secretary on the vital issues/details/directions discussed in Congress hearings and meetings.
