December 19, 2013 BLGF MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 110-13 TO : All Regional Directors for Local Government Finance, Provincial, City and Municipal Treasurers and All Others Concerned SUBJECT : Submission of Documents Pertaining to the Proposal of Senate Committee on Ways and Means Exempting Senior Citizens from Paying Real Property Taxes This is in connection with the letter dated November 29, 2013 of Atty. Rodelio T. Dascil, MNSA, Director General-STSRO, Office of the Senate of the Philippines, requesting set of information regarding discussions of the Senate of Ways and Means for consideration to exempt senior citizens from paying real property taxes. In this regard, the Regional Offices are directed to submit, the soonest, to BLGF Central Office, the following concerns: 1. General philosophy on exempting senior citizens from paying real property taxes; 2. Total no. of senior citizens who have been paying real property taxes for the last five (5) years (no. of taxpayers per year/per region); 3. Total amount of real property taxes paid by senior citizens for the last five (5) years (per region); 4. Percentage of total amount of real property taxes paid by senior citizens against the total revenue collections of the government for the last five (5) years. cSDIHT The Regional Office concerned shall likewise monitor the prompt compliance of this directive to all LGUs under their respective jurisdiction.
