Economic Development and Trade Promotion 1. Developing Government Policies to Promote SME Development (12 to 21 November 2012) This programme would provide a framework for governments to develop policy situations that engage the private sector to meet national SME development needs. It will demonstrate how the private sector can support government SME development strategies and programs, including special initiatives targeting access to finance, provision of business development services and marketing support services. Applicants should be: mid-level foreign government officials dealing with SME policy, economic development managers, and business association representatives responsible for articulating SME policy needs, proficient in spoken and written English and in good health. Deadline for nominations is on 13 September 2012 . 2. Single Electronic Trade Window Planning, Implementation and Operations (03 to 07 December 2012) This course is designed for participants involved in Trade Facilitation in their countries, considering implementing and operating a Single Trade Electronic Window. The course is designed based on key tenets in the United Nations Recommendation 33 (on trade single windows) and will cover strategic implementation planning and operations planning. Applicants should be: senior policy makers from government ministries, agencies and other bodies involved in trade facilitation, trade single widows, customs administrations, proficient in spoken and written English and in good health. aHcACI Deadline for nomination is on 01 October 2012 . 3. A Comprehensive Introduction to International Trade Facilitation (04 to 08 February 2013) This course is designed to introduce participants to the concept of international trade logistics and trade facilitation. Some of the key benefits that they can bring back would be through the study of key trade facilitation platform such as TradeNet and Port information technology deployments. They will also be exposed to trade facilitation initiatives in Singapore. Applicants should be: currently or will be engaged in trade facilitation, regulatory, customs and/or trade promotion role, proficient in spoken and written English and in good health. Deadline for nomination is 23 December 2012 . B. Information and Communication Technology 1. Strategic IT Planning (10 to 14 December 2012) This course will equip participating professionals with broad information security knowledge and enable professionals to be conversant in Singapore security-related laws and regulations. The course will train information security professionals to handle and manage cyber security threats. Applicants should be: mid to senior-level public service officials who are information security professionals with at least one year of relevant IT experience in system and network support or software development, proficient in spoken and written English and in good health. cHaCAS Deadline for nominations is on 24 September 2012 . 2. Chief Information Officers Training Programme on the Strategic Management of Information Technology (14 to 25 January 2013) The training program will equip senior management with proven practices to strategically plan and manage national IT projects to enhance national economic competitiveness. Applicants should be: Chief Information Officers or senior government officials with relevant qualifications and experience in IT management, proficient in spoken and written English and in good health. Deadline for nomination is on 08 November 2012 . 3. Developing E-Government Strategies (25 February to 08 March 2013) The course will equip senior management participants with a range of emerging practices and examples of how E-Government can be undertaken by public sector organisations to strategically plan and transform their organization. Applicants should be: senior policy makers from government ministries, agencies and other bodies with the responsibility for planning and implementing e-Government programmes, proficient in spoken and written English and in good health. Deadline for nomination is 07 December 2012 . TAaCED C. Port Management 1. Port Management and Operations Course (19 to 30 Nov. 2012) This course provides participants with an insight into Singapore's experience in change management operations and administration systems. Emphasis is on planning, organising and use of resources to ensure high service levels to port users. Applicants should be: mid to senior level port officials, proficient in spoken and written English and in good health. Deadline for nomination is on 13 September 2012 . D. Governance and Public Administration 1. Public Governance and Administration (07 to 18 January 2013) This programme intends to provide an overview of Singapore's experiences in public governance and administration. It explores Singapore's approach towards governance and policy-making, sharing various management tools that have been effectively utilised in the public sector. The programme will also share some of Singapore's success and failures in public governance and administration as well as the lessons that can be drawn. Applicants should be: mid to senior level public service officials (Deputy Head and above) who are currently involved in policy making, proficient in spoken and written English and in good health. EDcIAC Deadline for nominations is on 21 November 2012 . 2. Productivity Management for Government Officials The course will provide participants with the knowledge for competent and effective management of productivity in their respective organizations. Applicants should be: mid to senior level government officials of National Productivity Organisations or involved in productivity development activities in their organisation, proficient in spoken and written English and in good health. Deadline for nominations is on 30 November 2012 . E. Initiative for ASEAN Integration 1. Cambodia August 20-24, 2012 Investment Promotion Series: Foundation Course on Investment Promotion Strategies. 2. Lao PDR August 13-24, 2012 IT Security Series: Foundation Course on Server Administration and Networking. 3. Vietnam August 13-17, 2012 Management and Leadership Skills for the Public Sector.
