IaDSEA (SGD.) LOURDES Z. SANTIAGO Director IV Central Administration Office Friedrich Naumann FOUNDATION FOR FREEDOM PHILIPPINE OFFICE THE FREEDOM PROJECT Department of Finance - The Secretary - Hon. Cesar Purisima May 23, 2012 Dear Secretary Purisima: Once again, The Freedom Project is in search for legislation, policies, and programs that made an impact in the national or local scene, and that translated the concept of freedom into practical ideas that engage the public. This project aims to recognize outstanding initiatives that promote, safeguard and maximize the benefits of freedom. It seeks to translate freedom from a mere concept to actual programs that bear the standards and exemplify its values, such as participatory democracy, good governance, human rights and free trade. In this regard, we would like to ask your good office to help us advertise the search for The Freedom Project. It would be valuable if we could involve as many local government units, communities, civil society organizations, and schools as possible and together recognize efforts to empower individuals and transform society. It is our objective that these initiatives be emulated towards the achievement of, as President Aquino had said, "true freedom." cSIADH We are sending you posters and brochures for distribution. Nominations can also be made online at www.fnf.org.ph/thefreedomproject. We would appreciate if you could link this in your website and post it on your social media page as well. Nominations are until 31 July 2012, and the presentation of selected entries will be on 06 September 2012. The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is a German political foundation that advocates liberal democracy. The Freedom Project is part of its campaign It's All About Freedom. You may contact us at (02) 8196086/87 should you need more information. Thank you very much for your support. Kind regards, (Sgd.) Jules Maaten Country Director
