Deferment of the Holding of Conference and Other Similar Assemblies During the Election Period

April 12, 2007 BLGF MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO.04-07 TO : All Regional Directors for Local Government Finance and Local Treasurers SUBJECT : Deferment of the Holding of Conference and Other Similar Assemblies During the Election Period Pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act No. 9006, otherwise known as the "Fair Election Act" and in view of COMELEC Resolution No. 7767 promulgated on November 30, 2006, likewise, Section 8 (b), Ruled XIII of the Omnibus Rules Implementing Book V of Executive Order No. 292 and other Pertinent Civil Service Laws, relative to certain prohibitions in connection with the forthcoming May 14, 2007 Synchronized National and Local Elections, all Regional Directors for Local Government Finance and Local Treasurers are hereby advised to defer the holding of conference and other similar assemblies during the election period to prevent our local treasurers from charges of electioneering. Commission of partisan political activities are considered grounds for disciplinary action. All BLGF Regional Directors are therefore instructed to disseminate contents hereof to all Provincial, City and Municipal Treasurer in their respective jurisdictions. For compliance. (SGD.) MA.
