BSP Complex Roxas Blvd., Manila SUBJECT : Support for the 2012 Census of Philippine and Industry (CPBI) n Dear Secretary Purisima: The National Statistics Office (NSO) will be conducting the 2012 CPBI starting April 1, 2013. The results of this census will indicate the performance and trends of economic activities in the country for the year 2012. MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise) statistics by total assets will be one of the important indicators that will be generated from the 2012 CPBI. The 2012 CPBI will also provide benchmark data to measure statistics on trade in services. Accurate and up-to-date economic information will enable planners, both from the government and private sector, to formulate meaningful policies and make sound business decisions. CDAHaE The operation requires the nationwide collection of information from sample establishments and enterprises thru personal interview and self-administered questionnaires. Respondents are encouraged to respond thru & web-based questionnaire available at www.census.gov.ph/itsd. Respondents are assured by Section 4 of Commonwealth Act No. 591 that all information provided are kept strictly confidential and will not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or regulation. The same law also provides for the compliance to the submission of accomplished questionnaires to the NSO. In this connection, may we request your office to support the 2012 CPBI by posting in your official website the streamer and logo of the census provided in the http://census.gov.ph/content/primer-2012-census-philippine-business-and-industry .
