DIMAANDAL Director IV January 9, 2013 PROCLAMATION NO. 532 DECLARING THE YEAR 2013 AS THE CENTENNIAL YEAR OF THE RECONSTITUTION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BURGOS, ILOCOS NORTE WHEREAS, the year 2013 marks the 100th anniversary of the reconstitution of the Municipality of Burgos, Province of Ilocos Norte as an independent municipality; aDcHIC WHEREAS, on 15 October 1903, the Philippine Commission promulgated Act No. 946 which merged the town of Nagpartian with Bangui, the latter being the mother town; WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 87 (s. 1912) was issued separating Nagpartian from the Municipality of Bangui; WHEREAS, the separation took effect on 01 January 1913, making Nagpartian an independent municipality; and WHEREAS, on 28 February 1914, to honor the martyred priest Jose Burgos, the name Nagpartian was changed to Burgos pursuant to Act No. 2390. NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the year 2013 as the "Centennial Year of the Reconstitution of the Municipality of Burgos." All concerned departments, agencies and instrumentalities of the national government, state universities and colleges (SUCs), government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs) and local government units (LGUs) are hereby enjoined to support and extend the necessary assistance in the observance of the "Centennial Year of the Reconstitution of the Municipality of Burgos."
