December 15, 2010 BLGF MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 017-10 TO : All BLGF Officials and Employees, Regional Directors for Local Government Finance, Provincial, City and Municipal Treasurers and Others Concerned SUBJECT : Extension of Service of Retired Government Employees For the information and guidance of all concerned, attached is a copy of the Memorandum dated November 23, 2010 of the Executive Secretary, Office of the President, with an advisory on the instructions of the President that, as a matter of policy, the extension of service of government employees who have reached the compulsory retirement age of sixty-five (65) years will no longer be allowed, except in highly meritorious cases. AaITCS Said Memorandum further directs all heads of government agencies to ensure that a smooth transition and turn-over of the work, records, assets, and other pertinent documents of the retiring officers or staff to the next-in-rank officers or staff shall be undertaken prior to retirement.
