Cesar Purisima January 30, 2012 Dear Secretary Purisima, The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is a German political foundation that advocates the liberal values of participatory democracy, human rights and free trade. FNF is also dealing with the issue of climate change, looking at it from the angle of good governance and the civil society's role in planning to effectively adapt to the challenge. CIHAED As part of our initiatives, we, together with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Environmental Protection and the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), have launched acCLICKmatize a photo contest that would allow us to identify adaptive measures to climate change. We would like to capture best practices on camera that could raise awareness and possibly build adaptive capacities. Enclosed are posters and flyers of acCLICKmatize. We hope that you could display and distribute the materials to encourage participants to join. The contest runs from January 17 to March 2, 2012. Top photos will receive cash prizes and shall be part of our exhibit slated at the end of March 2012. Jules Maaten Country Director Climate change photo contest acclickmatize Contest Mechanics The contest is open to all amateur and professional photographers. Pictures should be taken in the Philippines. All entries must be sent via email at [emailprotected] on or before Friday, 02 March 2012. Entries received after this date will not qualify. There is no limit to the number of entries. However, a participant can only win one (1) prize: 1st prize PHP5,000 2nd prize PHP3,000 3rd prize PHP1,500 10 consolation prizes PHP500 All will receive a Certificate of Recognition. Photographs must be in digital format. Only online entries will be eligible. The files must be 5 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image). A short explanation on the adaptive measure captured on camera must be included. Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping. TcHCDI Photographs must not have been previously published in any form. The photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the Contest entrant. By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant, that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the photograph. The organizer reserves the absolute right to exhibit or reproduce any entry in whatever way deemed fit for exhibition and for any print based publicity and promotional purposes without prior notice, consent or payment of fee to the entrants. All exhibited photographs can be sold to interested parties. The judges' decision is final. No correspondence will be entertained. Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone and will be announced at www.fnf.org.ph by 12 March 2012. By participating in this, participants agree to be bound by these rules and regulations as well as the decisions made by the judges.
