October 19, 2006 BLGF MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 011-06 TO : All Bureau Officials and Employees; Regional Directors for Local Government Finance, Provincial, City and Municipal Treasurers and Assessors and Others Concerned SUBJECT : Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 7707 Dated August 30, 2006, Prescribing the Calendar of Activities and Period of Prohibited Acts in Connection with the May 14, 2007 Synchronized National and Local Elections For the information and guidance of all concerned, attached is a copy of Resolution No. 7707, promulgated on August 30, 2006 of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) prescribing the calendar of activities and period of prohibited acts in connection with the May 14, 2007 synchronized national and local elections. The Provincial Treasurers and Assessors are hereby instructed to disseminate the contents thereof, among the Municipal Treasurers and Assessors within their respective jurisdictions. MONTESA Executive Director August 30, 2006 COMELEC RESOLUTION NO. 7707 CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES AND PERIODS OF PROHIBITED ACTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAY 14, 2007 SYNCHRONIZED NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS Pursuant to the powers vested in it by the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, the Omnibus Election Code (B.P. Blg. 881), Republic Act No. 6646, 7166, 8189, 8436, 9189 and other election laws, the Commission on Elections RESOLVED to prescribe as it hereby prescribes the following Calendar of Activities and Periods of Prohibited Acts in connection with the May 4, 2007 synchronized national and local elections: DATE/PERIOD ACTIVITIES PROHIBITED ACTS July 26, 2006 (WED) Prohibition on the transfer, promotion to August 12, 2007 extension, recall of any member of (SUN) (Comelec the foreign service corps, including Resolution No. 7686 members of the attached agencies, or dated July 17, 2006) the movement of any such member from his current post or position September 30, 2006 Last day to file application for (SAT) registration / certification as overseas absentee voter and application to vote in absentia (Section 4, Comelec Resolution No. 7447 dated 18 March 2005). Last day for filing of application for transfer, of overseas registration record from one Post 1 to another or from one country to another under the same consular jurisdiction of the Post or from Post to a Philippine city/ municipality other than the original residence of the applicant (Sec. 19(A) (B) and (D), Comelec Resolution No. 7447 dated 18 March 2005). (WED) 14, RA 7166) This Resolution shall take effect seven (7) days after its publication in two (2) newspapers of general circulation in the Philippines. DHCSTa The Education and Information Department shall cause the publication of this Resolution and shall furnish copies thereof to all Regional Election Directors, Provincial Election Supervisors, Election Officers and all Departments, Bureaus, Offices and Agencies deputized by the Commission, including the Department of Foreign Affairs and other government agencies maintaining offices abroad.
