Fuerte, Chief Administrative Officer, PSD, Central Administration, Office, Department of Finance, inviting this Bureau to nominate candidates to the courses mentioned therein. (2013) This is to inform that this Department has been invited by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Institute to nominate candidate/s for each of the following courses: A. External Debt Statistics Nov 18-Dec 13, 2013 This four-week course, presented by the IMF Statistics Department, is intended to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the conceptual framework for the compilation of external debt statistics and with practical guidance on the collection and analysis of these data. It comprises lectures, practical exercises, and case studies. The course is designed for officials whose main responsibility is the compilation of external debt statistics. Participants should have a degree in economics or equivalent experience. Deadline for online application to IMF is on 14 June 2013. SHacCD B. Financial Programming and Policies Jul 29-Aug 23, 2013 This four-week course, presented by the IMF's Institute for Capacity Development, aims at extending participants' understanding of the design and implementation of macroeconomic and financial policies, drawing on the Fund's experience in economic surveillance, the design of financial programs, and the provision of technical advice to member countries. The course covers: the principal features of the different accounts used in macroeconomic analysis ( i.e ., the national income, balance of payments, fiscal, and monetary accounts) and the interrelations among these accounts, and forecasting methods for each sector; the diagnosis of macroeconomic performance and analysis of the effects of macroeconomic and structural policies on the main variables of interest to policymakers, including output, prices, and the balance of payments; and the preparation of a macroeconomic policy program. The course is designed for mid-level officials providing advice on macroeconomic and financial policies or involved in policy implementation (course requires substantial background). Applicants are expected to have a degree in economics (preferably advanced) or equivalent experience, along with proficiency in the use of spreadsheets. Deadline for online application to IMF is on 22 February 2013. C. Monetary and Financial Statistics Jul 01-26, 2013 This four-week course, presented by the IMF's Statistics Department, is designed to assist officials in the compilation of monetary and financial statistics in accordance with international best practices. The course material is based on the Monetary and Financial Statistics Manual and the Monetary and Financial Statistics: Compilation Guide, which expand on the definitions, classifications, and valuation principles for monetary and financial macroeconomic analysis within the framework of the System of National Accounts. The course discusses the principles of economic sectorization, the characteristics and classification of financial instruments, valuation, and other accounting issues that are relevant to the compilation of analytical accounts for the entire financial sector, comprising the central bank, other depository corporations, and other financial corporations. The course is designed for central bank officials responsible for the compilation of monetary statistics. Participants should have a degree in economics, statistics, or the equivalent experience. Deadline for online application to IMF is on 25 January 2013 . The airfare, accommodation, living allowance, and health insurance shall be provided by IMF.
