Tulong sa Lokal na Kaunlaran, A Tax Information Drive for LGUs Amidst the financial crisis currently being experienced worldwide, the Department of Finance has perceived the strategic role of LGUs in sustaining national economic stability and in ensuring that the basic needs of their constituents are unconditionally met. In this regard, Secretary of Finance Margarito B. Teves, proclaimed by London Magazine The Banker, as "2008 Finance Minister of the Year for Asia", embarked on a massive tax information drive with the theme "Buwis ng Bawat Mamamayan . . . . Tulong sa Lokal na Kaunlaran" in support of the revenue generation programs of all LGUs nationwide. TEAaDC In this connection, everyone is enjoined to support the program by posting banners, streamers, posters and/or other tax information materials in conspicuous places within your respective jurisdiction. Attached is a pre-designed format of the tax information material which can be downloaded thru the BLGF website at [emailprotected]. The Regional Directors of this Bureau are hereby instructed to disseminate the contents of this Circular to all Provincial, City and Municipal Treasurers within their respective jurisdiction, likewise enjoining earliest compliance hereof.
