July 13, 1994 BIR RULING [UN-208-94] Embassy of the Russian Federation 1245 Acacia Road Dasmarias Village Makati, Metro Manila Attention: Ambassador Vitaly B . Koutchouk Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated June 29, 1994 requesting for Tax Exemption Certificate for an intended purchase by the Embassy of one (1) unit of locally assembled motor vehicle, particularly described as follows: cdta Model: 1994 Honda Civic Sedan 1.6 ESi MT 4-door Engine No.: PH162001794 Frame No.: PHSY6 2A1297 It is represented that the above-stated intended purchase is for the personal use of your Mr. Guennadi Chitikov, an Embassy staff member; and our Department of Foreign Affairs approved your said request and in fact issued an authorization dated June 14, 1994 for the said local purchase with the necessary exemptions. In reply thereto, we are hereby granting your request for tax exemption covering the amounts of FORTY-EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY ONE PESOS (P48,518.00) AND FORTY-NINE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHTEEN PESOS (P49,818.00) representing ad valorem tax and value-added tax, respectively. It is understood that this exemption will not entitle the supplier to any input tax credit corresponding to the above-stated sale.
