January 10, 1994 BIR RULING [UN-005-94] Kikuya Food Trading, Inc. No. 58 Kapiligan Street Araneta Subdivision Quezon City Attention: Mr . Francisco C . Chiquillo General Manager Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated July 26, 1993, addressed to the Revenue District Officer of Revenue of Revenue District No. 30-A, Quezon City, requesting that you be allowed to adopt a computer based accounting system. Specifically, the following are the books of accounts to be computerized: cd 1. Purchases Journal 2. Cash Disbursement Journal 3. Sales Journal 4. Cash Receipt Journal 5. General Journal 6. General Ledger In reply, please be informed that your request is hereby granted subject to the following conditions, viz: (1) A readable print-out of the information/accounting data should be made available/verifiable; and (2) Diskettes containing records, classification and summary of transactions shall be subject to examination and inspection of internal revenue officers as if they are the traditional books of accounts, in accordance with Section 235 of the Tax Code, as amended.
