November 25, 1958 BIR RULING NO. 677-58 The Governor Central Bank of the Philippines Manila Attention : No-Dollar Import Office S i r : The Philippine Federation of Christian Churches, 1648 Taft Ave., Manila, has written to this Office stating that "In connection with our pending application with the No-Dollar Import Office concerning the importation of some gifts to the organization, we have been requested for either a tax clearance certificate, or a letter of authority from the Bureau of Internal Revenue stating that we are exempt from income tax, privilege tax, etc." In view thereof, I have the honor to inform you that, pursuant to existing internal revenue laws and regulations, as a religious corporation, the Philippine Federation of Christian Churches is exempt from the income tax.
