October 23, 1959 BIR RULING NO. 531-59 Mr. Juan T. David Suite 212 Burke Building Escolta, Manila S i r : In reply to your query, I have the honor to inform you that pursuant to General Circular No. V-3 of the Auditor General dated March 23, 1945, documentary stamps issued by the Commonwealth Government have been declared obsolete and the use thereof prohibited. Accordingly, the said documentary stamps can no longer be used not exchanged with documentary stamps of the Republic series. Very truly yours, MISAEL P. VERA Deputy Commissioner of Internal Revenue
