November 4, 1988 BIR RULING NO. 527-88 103 (c) 000-00 527-88 Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated October 10, 1988, in effect, requesting a ruling that your importation of 5,000 liters of ONECIDE-15EC is exempt from the value-added tax. Brochure submitted shows that ONECIDE-15EC is a herbicide that provides effective control of grass weeds in bananas, citrus, pineapple, soybeans and tomatoes. Such being the case, it is exempt from the value-added tax pursuant to Section 103(c) of the Tax Code, as amended by Executive Order No. 273. acd This serves as authority for the release from customs custody of your aforesaid importation of ONECIDE-15EC covered by Bill of Lading No. K020-07290 without payment of the value-added tax.
