October 14, 1988 BIR RULING NO. 507-88 103 (c) 000-00 507-88 Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated September 19, 1988 requesting a ruling on the applicability of VAT on your importation of meat and bone meal. In reply, please be informed that meat and bone meal are animal feeds; hence, your importation thereof is exempt from VAT pursuant to Section 103(c) of the Tax Code, as amended by Executive Order No. 273. This serves as your authority to secure the release from customs custody your importation of meat and bone meal covered by Bill of Lading No. MBI and shipped via steamer Australian Advance V15 without the payment of VAT. cdtech Very truly yours, (SGD.)
