November 29, 1960 BIR RULING NO. 499-60 The Metal Products, Inc. Cordero St., Caloocan Rizal Gentlemen : In answer to your verbal inquiry regarding the rate or rates of sales tax due on the sales of wrist bangles and hair bands manufactured by that corporation, which you claim are made of aluminum and of which you submitted samples to this Office, I have the honor to inform you that the same are subject to 7% sales tax under section 186 of the National Internal Revenue Code. Said tax is based on the gross selling price of the articles in question, minus the total cost of deductible raw materials. liblex Very truly yours, MELECIO R.
