October 5, 1959 BIR RULING NO. 475-59 The Sports, Inc. Luneta, Manila Gentlemen : In reply to your letter dated October 5, 1959, I have the honor to inform you that your shipment of Gutta Percha, Rubber Threads, Poliolite and Liquid Center, allegedly to be used by you as raw materials in the manufacture of golf balls which are not to be sold but used in your driving range at the Municipal Gold Links, is subject to only 7% compensating tax, the same to be based on the landed cost thereof without mark-up. This will serve as authority for the Commissioner of Customs in effecting the release of the shipment in question from customs custody upon the payment of the 7% compensating tax thereon.
