September 21, 1959 BIR RULING NO. 455-59 Otto Gmur, Incorporated P. O. Box 211, Manila Gentlemen : In answer to your letter of the 14th instant, I have the honor to inform you that rosaries made of wood, glass and/or plastic material, with crucifixes made of aluminum, iron, steel and/or copper, are subject to 7% sales tax, based on the gross selling price thereof minus the total cost of raw materials used which had previously been subject to the same rate of sales tax, pursuant to section 186 of the National Internal Revenue Code.
