August 18, 1959 BIR RULING NO. 417-59 Alhambra Cigar & Cigarette Mfg. Co. P. O. Box 209 M a n i l a Attention : Mr . D . A . Fernando Personnel & Public Relations Manager Gentlemen : In reply to your letter dated July 20, 1959, I have the honor to inform you that the strike now besetting your company since March 30, 1959 which allegedly prevents management officials and non-striking employees from entering the company compound does not constitute a justification for your request for an extension of time until the strike is terminated within which to remit the tax withheld from the wages of your employees during second quarter of 1959. Your request has therefore to be as it is hereby denied. Very truly yours, (SGD.) MELECIO R. DOMINGO Commissioner of Internal Revenue
