September 23, 1960 BIR RULING NO. 416-60 The Chairman The Committee On Commerce & Industry House of Representatives M a n i l a S i r : This is in answer to the letter of that Office dated August 29, 1960 requesting this Office to furnish your Committee with certain information on the business operation of tobacco dealers and manufacturers of cigars and cigarettes. The data sought to be obtained from this Office constitute information regarding the business of taxpayers which come within the prohibition contemplated in section 347 of the National Internal Revenue Code and which cannot be revealed to anyone without incurring the penalties prescribed in said section.
