September 7, 1960 BIR RULING NO. 384-60 His Honor The City Mayor M a n i l a S i r : Reference is made to your letter of the 1st instant, requesting 50% exemption from the amusement tax on the proceeds to be derived from the boxing exhibition to be held for the benefit of the Boy's Town of Manila on September 10, 1960 at the Chinese YMCA Gym, as well as from those to be held twice a month thereafter. You stated that as said place is not spacious enough to accommodate a big audience, the Boy's Town has been offered a minimum guarantee of P200.00 only for each exhibition by Mr. Polizardo Mendoza under whose management the boxing exhibitions will be held. In answer thereto, I have the honor to inform you that said request is hereby granted, provided that the amount the Boy's Town shall receive for each exhibit on shall not be less than the amount of the tax otherwise due on the receipts derived from such exhibition.
