July 17, 1958 BIR RULING NO. 372-58 Warner, Barnes & Co., Ltd. Hongkong Bank Building Manila Gentlemen : In answer to your letter of the 7th instant, I have the honor to inform you that, unlike in the cases of articles subject to the specific tax, labels for use on articles subject to the sales tax need not be approved by this Office. Accordingly, and as paint is subject to the sales tax, and not to the specific tax, you can use the "Chronatone" labels on the paint product mentioned in your said letter without the prior approval of this Office. prll Very truly yours, (SGD.)
