June 30, 1958 BIR RULING NO. 349-58 M. G. Bosque Music Store 962-964 R. Hidalgo, Manila Gentlemen : In reply to your letter dated May 16, 1958, I have the honor to inform you that pursuant to Section 185 of the Tax Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 1612, piano spare parts which are imported for resale are subject to 30% advance sales tax, the same to be based on the import invoice value thereof, including freight, postage, insurance, commission, customs duty, and all similar charges, plus 50% mark-up. aisadc Very truly yours, (SGD.)
