December 7, 1990 BIR RULING NO. 233-90 235 142-90 233-90 Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated September 19, 1990 requesting for authority to adopt a computer-based accounting system effective April 1, 1991 on the ground that you are now in the process of computerizing the accounting system which will eventually eliminate the use of the traditional books of accounts. In reply, please be informed that your request is hereby granted subject to the following conditions: 1. A readable printout of the information/accounting data should be made available or verifiable; and 2. Diskettes containing records, classification and summary of transactions shall be subject to examination and inspection of internal revenue officers as if they are the traditional books of accounts, in accordance with Section 235 of the Tax Code. aisadc Very truly yours, (SGD.)
