May 26, 1988 BIR RULING NO. 217-88 103 (c) 050-87 408-87 217-88 Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated March 14, 1988 requesting a ruling that your importation of potassium nitrate is exempt from the value-added tax. In reply, please be informed that the chemical known as potassium nitrate is a fertilizer. (BIR Ruling Nos. 050-87 and 408-87) Accordingly, your importation of the same is exempt from the 10% value-added tax pursuant to Section 103(c) of the Tax Code, as amended by E.O.
