Manuel D . Recto Vice President-Finance Gentlemen : In reply to your letter dated August 3, 1981, I have the honor to inform you that, as a service contractor engaged in petroleum operations, you are exempt from all taxes, except income tax. (Sec. 12, Presidential Decree No. 87) Accordingly, you are exempt from the payment of documentary stamp tax on original issue of certificates of stocks, checks, promissory notes and upon documents subject to the documentary stamp tax, which documents are issued by you in connection with your petroleum operations. cdti Very truly yours, RUBEN B.
