August 9, 1989 BIR RULING NO. 169-89 123 000-00 169-89 Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated June 22, 1989 requesting that the proceeds to be realized from the concert featuring Mr. Basil Valdez to be held at the Meralco Building on August 12, 1989 be exempted from amusement tax. cdtech It appears that the AIM Scientific Foundation, Inc. is a non-stock and non-profit foundation duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission; and that it will sponsor the said concert to raise funds for its scientific, research and development projects in industry, agriculture, technology engineering and social development. In reply, please be informed that the holding of a concert is not one of the activities subject to the amusement tax under Section 123 of the Tax Code, as amended.
