June 29, 1983 BIR RULING NO. 122-83 Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated April 4, 1983 requesting information as to the rate of advance sales tax and mark-up applicable to the following importation: "Electric Hair Dryers, Hand-Held used by Barbers and individuals in homes when drying hairs after shampooing hairs etc. by men and women." In reply, I have the honor to inform you that importation of the above-mentioned article is subject to 25% advance sales tax based on the total landed cost plus 25% mark-up imposed by Section 196(k) of the Tax Code, in relation to Section 193(b) of the same Code, as amended by Executive Order No. 883. aisadc Very truly yours, (SGD.)
