July 22, 1981 BIR RULING NO. 114-81 228-0 012-80 114-81 Development Bank of Rizal 526 Samson Road Caloocan, Metro Manila Attention: Mr . Joaquin S . Arambulo President & General Manager Gentlemen : In reply to your letters dated May 12, 1981 and May 20, 1981, please be informed that since you have been certified by the Development Bank of the Philippines as a Class "A" private development bank with net assets of P9,473,823.24 as of May 31, 1981, you are exempt from the payment of all taxes, charges and fees except compensating tax and tariff duties, pursuant to Section 10 of Republic Act No. 4093, as amended. Accordingly, you are exempt from the documentary stamp tax on the bank checks being printed by the Central Bank of the Philippines. Very truly yours, RUBEN B. ANCHETA Acting Commissioner
