March 4, 1960 BIR RULING NO. 112-60 The President & General Manager Pampanga Sugar Development Co., Inc. 334 Regina Bldg. Manila S i r : In reply to your letter dated March 4, 1960 requesting that your shipment of one (1) piece of platinum dish to be used exclusively in your sugar central be taxes only at 7% and not at 50% compensating tax, I regret to have to inform you that your request cannot be granted. Under the provisions of section 184(b) of the Tax Code, articles made of, or ornamented, mounted or filled with precious metals or imitations thereof are subject to 50% sales tax regardless of the end use thereof. cdll Very truly yours, MELECIO R.
