Salientes, Jr . VP-Finance & Administration Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated March 1, 1980 requesting exemption from the documentary stamp tax on your personalized checks. It is represented that as a BOI registered enterprise under Republic Act No. 5186 you are entitled to exemption from all taxes, except income tax, on a diminishing scale (Sec. 8(a) R.A. 5186 as amended by P.D. No. 92) and that you are placing your order with the Philippine National Bank for personalized company checks, the cost of which includes the documentary stamps. In reply, I have the honor to inform you that as a registered pioneer enterprise under Republic Act No. 5186 as amended by Presidential Decree No. 92, you are exempt from the payment of documentary stamp tax on a diminishing scale on the personalized company checks you will order from the Philippine National Bank. cdta Very truly yours, RUBEN B.
