February 10, 1958 BIR RULING NO. 081-58 Mr. Juan B. Alegre Veterans Memorial Hospital Diliman, Quezon City S i r : In reply to your letter dated January 21, 1958 wherein you requested information as to the rate of percentage tax payable by keepers of bars who sell "San Miguel Pale Pilsen", I have the honor to inform you as follows: The drink known as "San Miguel Pale Pilsen" is a fermented liquor. Such being the case, the sales of "San Miguel Pale Pilsen" by bars, cafes, restaurants, or other eating establishments are subject to 7% tax pursuant to Section 191 of the Tax Code, as amended.
