May 27, 1986 BIR RULING NO. 066-86 162 (c) 000-00 066-86 Gentlemen : In reply to your letter dated December 26, 1985, please be informed that your importation of armaflex rubber foam (sample submitted) which is used as a material for hot and cold insulation to fit pipes, fitting like valves, elbows and tees is subject to 20% advance sales tax based on the total value used by the Bureau of Customs in determining tariff and customs duties, including customs duties and other charges pursuant to Section 162(c) in relation to Section 165(A)(2) of the Tax Code, as amended. cdti Very truly yours, (SGD.)
