November 14, 1980 BIR RULING NO. 052-80 030-a-1 000-77 52-80 National Manpower and Youth Council NMYC Complex, South Superhighway Taguig, Metro Manila Attention : Mr . Bernardo F . Ople Acting Director-General Gentlemen: In reply to your letter dated August 2, 1979, I have the honor to inform you that the membership fees and annual dues which will be paid by the private entities-members to the following five Industry Boards created under the Industry Manpower Development Orders (IMDO's) issued by the Minister of Labor as Chairman of that Council, pursuant to Article 50 of P.D. No. 442 (Labor Code of the Philippines) namely: 1. The Automotive Industry Board Foundation, Inc. (AIB); 2. The Construction Industry Board Foundation, Inc. (CIB); 3. The Power and Electricity Industry Board (PEIB); 4. The Land Transportation Industry Board (LTIB); and 5. The Apparel and Textile Industry Board (ATIB). for continued membership therein so that said private entities-members in their respective industry groups would be entitled to certain benefits, e.g., adequate supply of trained workers, etc., can be considered as necessary and ordinary business expenses, and are therefore deductible from gross income, pursuant to Section 30(a)(1) of the Tax Code of 1977, as amended. cdta Very truly yours, RUBEN B.
