Kalaw Street Ermita, Manila S i r : In reply to your letter dated August 12, 1980, please be informed that imported soya beans to be used as a basic raw material in the preparation of poultry and animal feeds are subject to the 10% advance sales tax based on the landed cost thereof plus 25% mark-up, in accordance with Section 199 in relation to Section 193(b) both of the National Internal Revenue Code, as amended.
