January 13, 1959 BIR RULING NO. 017-59 The National Chairman Veterans Organization of the Philippines 458 Arquiza, Ermita Manila S i r : Reference is made to your letter of the 10th instant, requesting full, or even 50%, exemption from the amusement tax on the proceeds of the benefit show held by that organization from December 15 to 21, 1958. In answer thereto, I have the honor to inform you that, if as represented, said proceeds are destined for the hospitalization and medical care of the sick and indigent members of the organization and for other charitable purposes, your said request is hereby granted, but to the extent of 50% only in accordance with Section 261 of the National Internal Revenue Code, provided that proofs are submitted to this Office as to the disposition made of part of the proceeds already disposed of and that to be made of the rest of the proceeds.
