February 21, 1963 BIR RULING NO. 005-63 The Metro Laboratories, Inc. P. O. Box 951, Manila Gentlemen : In reply to your letter dated February 11, 1963, requesting information as to the rate of advance sales tax on imported Ammoniated Mercury Ointment which arrived on board the SS "Toreador" (Bill of Lading No. 175), I have the honor to inform you that it appearing that the same is used in the manufacture of medicinal preparations, it is subject to 7% advance sales tax, pursuant to Section 186, in relation to Section 183(b) of the Tax Code. cdti Very truly yours, (SGD.)
