May 11, 2006 BIR RULING [DA-318-06] BIR Ruling No. DA-224-00 DejoRai Club Cebu City Attention: Mr. Rhomel Caudor Project Coordinator Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated March 27, 2006 requesting exemption from the payment of income tax on the proceeds of the premiere showing of "Da Vinci Code." As represented, DejoRai Club is a non-stock, nonprofit socio-civic organization composed of the International Order of DeMolay, the International Order of Job's Daughter, the International Order of Rainbow for girls and under the direct supervision of the Masonic lodge, an organization of young men and women between twelve (12) to twenty one (21) years of age whose purpose is to build better citizens and better leaders. On May 17, 2006, your organization will be sponsoring a block-off screening of the film, "Da Vinci Code" at Onstage Cinema, Ayala Center, Cebu City. The purpose of the activity is to raise funds for charity, specifically for the less fortunate brothers and sisters at DSWD, Cebu City. In reply, please be informed that the proceeds to be derived by DejoRai Club in connection with the advance screening of the film, "Da Vinci Code" on May 17, 2006 are not subject to income and business taxes. Such income, however, should be declared in the annual information return to be filed by the said non-stock, nonprofit organization on or before April 15, 2007. ICHAaT Very truly yours, (SGD.)
