August 12, 1997 BIR RULING [DA-276-97] Secretary Mina Gabor Department of Tourism Manila Dear Secretary Gabor: The Philippines is hosting the 27th Meeting of the Study Group on Asian Tax Administration and Research (SGATAR) on November 16-21, 1997 at the EDSA Plaza Hotel in Mandaluyong City with the theme, 'Transformation Strategies for Tax Administration Systems'. This will be participated in by the eleven (11) Internal Revenue Commissioners of the 11 member-countries in the Asia-Pacific Region as heads of the delegations and all the delegates accompanying them. For the third time, our country is given the privilege of providing all the facilities required for the discussion of prevailing issues and solutions on Asian Tax Administration. To provide the delegates with the profile of the Philippines, may we request your office for brochures and reading materials about our country which we will distribute to about eighty (80) delegates. It would be an invaluable help if the same could be furnished to us on or before October 1, 1997. I have designated Atty. Eufrocina S.
