June 25, 1998 BIR RULING [DA-269-98] Embassy of India 2190 Paraiso Street Dasmarias Village Makati City Gentlemen : This refers to your letter under Ref. No. Mani/Adm/586/1/96 dated April 10, 1997 requesting in effect for a certificate of exemption from the value-added tax on the local purchase of a Compaq Personal Computer from M/S Unison Computer Systems, Inc. at the cost of P59,000.00 including EVAT by Mr. Zile Singh, First Secretary of the Embassy. prcd In reply, please be informed that the Embassy of India is listed among those Embassies exempted from value-added tax and other local taxes imposed on local purchases of goods and services issued by the Office of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs, Manila pursuant to reciprocal treatment. In view thereof, this Office hereby grants your request for exemption from VAT on the local purchase of a Compaq Personal Computer by Mr. Zile Singh.
