July 24, 2001 BIR RULING [DA-128-01] The Chief, Assessment Division Revenue Region No. 18 Cotabato City S i r : There is returned to you herewith the entire docket relative to the deficiency tax case of ARTURO C. YGOA for approval of his request to pay his basic tax due in the amount of P22,776.11, in twenty one (21) monthly amortization and waive the corresponding interest and penalty in the amount of P1,008.78 and P6,000.00, respectively, per letter dated February 6, 2001. In connection therewith, you are requested to conduct further verification to determine if the abovenamed taxpayer is indeed financially incapable to pay the said taxes. In this regard, you should require the taxpayer to execute a waiver of Republic Act No. 1405 so that you can inquire into his bank deposits, pursuant to Section 6(F) of the Tax Code of 1997.
