March 12, 1973 Mr. Remigio R. Rigor President & General Manager Remigio R. Rigor Construction, Inc. 16-C South Avenue Quezon City S i r : This refers to your letter to the Regional Director, Revenue Region No. 6, Quezon City dated January 30, 1973 requesting that your gross receipts derived from your contracts with (a) Philippine Petroleum Corporation and (b) Peroxide Philippines Corporation, both preferred pioneer enterprises registered with the BOI under the provisions of Republic Act No. 3186, be exempted from the 3% contractor's tax. In reply, I have the honor to inform you that under Section 191(16) of the Tax Code, gross receipts derived by contractors from any pioneer industry registered with the Board of Investments, is exempt from the tax therein prescribed. Accordingly, the gross receipts that will be derived by you from the Philippine Petroleum Corporation and Peroxide Philippines Corporations in connection with your contracts with them shall be exempt from the contractor's tax. cdta Very truly yours, (SGD.)
